January 2009	-	-

Well, it took more than a weekend. I am finally finished. I have no plans to further update this site, but it will remain up as a testament to my five wonderful years with the game. A few notes of interest are that I followed typical Final Fantasy style and reused names from older FF games. Also, I posted some pictures to the fanart section that I no longer use.

For those of you that were with me along the way - Thank you. You will be missed.

It took a lot of effort to come back to this. I decided to go the easier route and take care of the NMs. I am still lacking the description of my final in game moments, but I have decided on the story. I am hoping to get it done by next weekend. Crossing my fingers.

By this time, anyone who really knows me will know that I have quit the game. Of course, this is the main reason for this huge delay in updating the annals. I decided that I did want to "finish" here as well, so I have spent a while trying to think of what I could do to bring about a conclusion. I spent my last month in the game getting shots to try and accomdate the story I decided upon (you will note the references to death in several entries). So far as I can tell, there will be two more updates here: 1 - all the notorious monsters I found in my final days, and 2 - January as the final month. {See you again!}

The content seems a little weak this month, however Wish and I got a lot accomplished. It seems that I am in grind mode with the Beastmaster job, and with Issadire's cooking. So, while I did a lot of things, it is not a very interesting story. Ah well, December is alreeady shaping up to be more exciting (can you say BST AF?), so stay tuned!

I hate to admit things like this, but this website had recently taken on the feeling of 'work.' With that, I keep putting off the updates. I have decided that since more than once I have used this site as a reference (not to mention the other people that have told me they have used it too), I set aside some specific time this weekend to do the updates. The huge NM update took much longer than I anticipated, but it is done. {Sweets}

In RL, things are so busy (work related, with a smattering of good family time), that FFXI has taken a back seat. I play when I can, and Wish plays even less. However, I still look forward to those times when I can, and can't wait for the day when work becomes more of a routine and let's me play more often.

There are tons more Campaign NMs since the update, and I got pics of a lot of them. I also managed to sneak in quite a few others as well. They will have to wait for the next update. As for March's annals, I seemed to go a little mission crazy. Between Aht Urgan, Wings of the Goddess, and the classic San d'Orian missions, I was fighting a lot of NMs there too.

I got the whole NM mess cleaned up (79 new entries). Hopefully the system will allow me to post, and readers to find, the NMs easier. For the record, there were 4 additions to the "Normal" NMs 37 additions to "Besieged" NMs, and 38 additions to the "Campaign" NMs. Whew!

Finally! The reason the annals, the wedding album, and all the other stuff that goes on around here is so late is a game I was developing. It is a virtual slot game called Goblin's Coffers. It started out as a treat for my wife, but it kept growing and growing. I finally decided that my online buddies should have a chance to see it as well. It can be downloaded from the 'Fanart' section. Please, enjoy it, as a lot of hours went into it.

I found that SE was realeasing a new chocobo game for the Nintendo DS (I don't have one), and they had these weird "website extras" available at the official site. Not knowing what else to do with them, I stuck them next to the Vana'diel clocks. Wish and I went ram hunting and just happened across Lambert, so there is that NM (the first in almost two months) as well.

Wow. I mean, really - W O W. January annals is 35 entries, and even then I was trying hard to decide what to use and what to leave out. Of course Wishnstar is now the focus of what I am doing in the game, so she is displayed prominently. The (very) few times I play without her are dedicated to my old obsessions of gil and NMs. Hopefully I will get back under control before February comes to an end. :)

I basically tossed the whole section and started it over. I like it now, and will actually start using it. I upgraded the entire site to version 8.0. Most of the stuff is behind the scenes, but I added some neat new visuals to mark the occasion as well. Stupid FTP client crashed while I was doing the massive uploads, and I later added it up to find that I am missing 5MB (out of 90MB) somewhere, but I can't find it. Will keep looking, and plan on finally doing September's annals for the next update.

Apparently August was a very busy month for the two of us. I posted the longest month to date to the annals, and added three more NMs (there were 17 altogether). I will start going through all my old screens and begin filling out the Places section in earnest for the next update.

Updated to Version 7.6 to include a new homepage, a revamped Places section, and these update notes. Since the NM section is getting so large, and the new Places section is heading that way fast, I wanted a place for the public to see what was recently added. Well, enjoy!

Obviously, I still wasn't happy with the new format. It's been 6 months since the last update. So, I took a few moments to contemplate what was wrong. First, and foremost, I am addicted to the actual game of Final Fantasy XI. Normally, if I have a free moment I would much rather go there than update some silly old website. Second, the role-playing element was the right idea, but the wrong execution was taking place. Hopefully the new way I am presenting the annals will be more fun.

Put up all new version seven of the site. Again with the drastic changes, but I finally had it beat into me that the primary viewer of this lovely tribute to Final Fantasy XI is myself. With that in mind, I geared almost everything to reflect me and what I do in the game. Hope you enjoy!
